CHIKMAGALUR WEEKENDS
Chikmagalur is a hill station near Bengaluru. To the north is Baba Budangiri, a mountain range in the Western Ghats, with 3 large caves said to be holy. Trails through forests and grasslands lead up to Mullayanagiri Peak. The cascading Hebbe Falls lie in an area of coffee plantations. The forested Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, northwest of Chikmagalur, is home to elephants, tigers and leopards. Chikmagalur is the region where the Hoysala rulers started and spent the early days of their dynasty. According to a legend, it was at Sosevur, now identified with Angadi in Mudigere Taluk that Sala, the founder of the Hoysala dynasty, killed the legendary tiger, immortalised in the Hoysala crest. It is known that Veera Ballala II (1173 – 1220 CE), the great king of Hoysala empire, has built the Amriteshwara temple Amruthapura in Tarikere Taluk.

Kemmanagundi
Kemmanagundi is a beautiful hill station in Karnataka. Also referred to as the Ooty of Karnataka, it is enveloped by lush green vegetation, beautiful greens, gorgeous gardens and green crests and troughs of valleys and mountains. It lies on the fringes of the Baba Budan Giri Range.
Mullayanagiri
Mullayanagiri It's awesome place for trekking and some leisure time with nature. You can either drive till the parking spot and start trekking till the top or just drive till the top, The place has an amazing view of the valley below and is supposedly the highest peak in Karnataka! There is a temple on top which can be easily accessed by trekking 400 odd steps.
Jhari Waterfalls
Jhari falls aka Buttermilk falls will be on the way towards Baba Budaangiri and Manikyadhara fall. One has to leave his/her vehicle on the main road and hire a jeep to reach the falls that is around 2-3 kms on an all terrain drive.
Baba Budangiri Hills
The Baba Budan Giri Hill Range or Chandra Drona Parvathais home to the highest peak of Karnataka known as Mullayanagiri. It is 1930 meters high and is famous for the view of beautiful sunsets you can see from there.
Z Point
You can reach Z Point by trekking. Situated at a distance of 60 kilometres from Chikmagalur in Kemmangundi, you can trek all the way from Raj Bhavan which takes an hour. Camping too is possible at the Z Point. The peak gets its name Z Point as it appears to be in Z shape. A little away from Baba Budan Shrine, the Z point offers some stunning views.
Bhadra wildlife Sanctuary
The Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is home to not just the tiger and elephant, but to the panther, bison, sloth bear, wild dog, flying squirrel (including the giant Indian squirrel) and wild boar. It also has over 120 species of flora, such as teak, rose-wood, mathi, honne, nandi, tadasalu and kindal.
Kudremukh National Park
The Kudremukh National Park derives its name from a hill top that resembles the shape of the head of a horse. The park houses four ranges named Kudremukh, Kerekatte, Kalasa, and Shimoga. The entire park is covered by thick forests with various species of flora. It is also surrounded by tea and coffee plantations and they provide a breathtaking experience along with a pleasant breeze.
Hebbe Falls
Hebbe Falls is situated at 10 km away from the famous hill station Kemmangundi in Karnataka, India. This waterfall is inside a coffee estate and can be reached either by walk or four-wheeler. It is 2 hrs (63 km) distance from chikmagalur on the way to Hyderabad. Once you reach the entrance of the hebbe falls you need to go by jeep to falls you need walk for 20 min toreach the falls.
Belavadi
Belavadi is famous for Sri Veera Narayana Temple built in Hoysala architectural style. The place is described as Ekachakranagara of Mahabharata and is said to be the place where Pandava prince Bheema killed the demon Bakasura and protected the village and its people.
